Day 98 : I got nothin’

Too much to do today so this is all I have. Nothin’ to see here, move along.

Day 97 : War Paint

Ok so not really war paint but we did go to Dippidee in American Fork for their Spring Break activities. Face paining, pin the cherry on the cupcake, and coloring fun. It was fun for the kids and yummy for all!

Day 96 : Taste the rainbow

While at the mall my son had to spend the quarter that he found in the park yesterday so he had a little skittles treat. The reason he is so sad can only be because Dad was taking his photo once again, sheesh.

Day 95 : Let’s Roll!

While at a park spending some time playing with and doing a little geocaching with my kids we saw this fire engine racing by. I have been wanting to practice my panning skills so here you go. Wish there wasn’t so much stuff between me and the engine, but for a split second decision and shot I think it is ok.

Day 94 : Helping Hands

I love that my sons are getting old enough to be helpful and not just in the way. Here my oldest is helping me make bread.

Day 93 : All dressed up

Here are my little men all dressed up. I love their new ties! So handsome!

Day 92 : Doctor, doctor, give me the news…

My son’s latest and last visit (I hope) after his Adnoids were removed and tubes put in. The news was that he is now healthy and good! Finally

Day 91 : Beauty

Once again my wife was willing to model for me as I tested some new outdoor lighting scenarios and I came up with this which I am very happy with.

Day 90 : 2nd Grade

Spelling Test

Todays photo was taken when my son left his practice spelling test on the table and it was the most interesting thing I could find at the moment. I can’t help but think that he will never write like this again in his life and how great it will be to have these little memories.

Day 89 : April Snow

Today’s photo is one that I took in the middle of the night while awake administering medicine to my son. To my amazement it was snowing.

This is officially the earliest 365 photo I have taken so far. Like 3 am early.

Day 88 : Prints, what are prints?

Prints are very important to our business and while all of our work for our customers are printed from a professional lab sometimes I like to make some of my own at home.

Instant gratification.

Day 87 : On the move

Not the most creative photo today but this is what I came up with today on my way to another Dr. visit for my youngest son. UPS on the move!

Day 86 : The cost of a 365 project

Todays photo represents one of the costs of my 365 photo project. A broken lens. It is extremely hard on lenses when you “almost” catch them. This one doesn’t show any signs of damage but it no longer will focus. Maybe a replacement and upgrade are in order.

Day 85 : A little coloring

It was surprising today but for the first time in a long time my kids sat down and wanted to color with crayons. Take a look at their, our, art. Maybe them wanting to color today had something to do with the 10 foot long paper. The second life for this seamless white paper.

Day 84 : Surgery

Todays the day that my wife and I have been dreading for the past couple of weeks. Our 4 year old had to go into surgery today in order to have his Adenoids removed and ear tubes put in. The Dr. and everyone we talked to about this surgery said that it isn’t a big deal and that the recovery is quick, like a day or two.

Well since I am writing this a little more than a week after his surgery I can tell you that for whatever reason this was not quick, not pain free, and it was a big deal for our little guy. As soon as he woke up from his surgery he was hysterical and very mad. He came to us thrashing about and trying to climb out of the bed that they were transporting him in. This biting, kicking, spitting, hitting, snotting, and everything else he could think of doing to us lasted over an hour. The nurse and anesthesiologist then told us that he shouldn’t be upset for that long and so they tried to give him something to ease the pain or to at least calm him down. When they tried putting this medicine into his i.v. they found out that it wasn’t working and after another 15 minutes or so gave up and removed the i.v. Thankfully by this point he was calming down and was more manageable. Then came the waking up every night screaming in pain as his Tylenol wore off. He was so upset that it sometimes takes almost an hour to get him to take more. After seeing his Dr. again and him putting him on antibiotics for the infection that had developed they said it would make him feel better within 24hrs. Well it has been 3 days since then and he still wakes up in the middle of the night hysterical. It is crazy, but I have gotten to the point where I set an alarm and go and wake him up and have him take his medicine so it doesn’t have a chance to wear completely off. Better to deal with a half asleep kid and it taking a minute to give him more medicine than a fully awake and hysterical kid that it at least 30 minutes to give him his medicine. When will it end, I wish I knew. Poor guy is so sweet most of the time so this has been really, really hard to see him in such pain. :-(

Day 83 : Made from real cows

My wife’s favorite treat when we are on a diet is the infamous Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich. They are really good and much better for a diet than an ordinary ice cream treat of any kind. While they probably aren’t made from real cows milk or cream they sure taste good.

Day 82 : Groovy

Today’s photo is my lava lamp. Although you can’t see it it is a rocket. It has been in storage for so long that my  4 year old doesn’t remember it, but thinks it is really cool now. Everyday he asks me to turn it on.

Keep it groovy!

Day 81 : WiLd MaN wILD

Anyone know where this was taken at? hint: it is a local eating establishment.

Day 80 : Little Goodies

One of our new found loves both for photographing kids with on their birthday and for eating are cupcakes and cakes  from Dippidee in American Fork. Love it!

Day 79 : Aspiring Photographer

This is my 8 year old as an aspiring photographer. He used his K’Nex toys to make the bike and the camera that he is holding. He then got the idea for this photo shoot and said he could see what the final photo would look like in his head. So we went to the studio and this photo was born from his pre-visualization. So proud!

Day 78 : Blended not stirred!

After yesterdays post I had to start and try new ways to pulverize fruits and vegetables into delicious juices and smoothies. While this photo was made with colored water and not fruit, I love the stopped action and drama. Needless to say this was a bit messy to create.

Day 77 : Gadgets

Kitchen gadgets are a part of everyones lives whether they play a large of small part they are all luxuries that most of us can’t do without. The Bosch Kitchen store in Orem is a treasure trove of kitchen gadgets. We attended a class today in the back of the store on juicing/blending and had a lot of fun. It is a great place to learn what all these different gadgets can really do. Gadgets make cooking and being in the kitchen that much more fun! Especially for me where power tools are welcome in any situation.

Day 76 : My Model

Here is my little model helping me try out our newest backdrop. What a handsome boy (he does need a haircut though) :-)

Day 75 : Eery Sky

The sky tonight was really cool and the moon huge. While I missed the full moon at it’s largest in years because of weather, I did capture this photo of the moon.
