Day 50 : Viva Las Vegas
Here is my favorite photo I made while in Las Vegas for WPPI. This was taken from high atop the Stratosphere. Love the lights and the sky. It was amazing but a little eerie at the same time!
Day 49 : The walls have hands
We had the pleasure of going to dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s while in Vegas and besides the company and food being amazing the decor was too. There are two hands, one on each side, of one of the exits of the restaurant. While there were many things to photograph I like this the most as I think it is the the most unique.
Day 48 : Vegas Skyline
Vegas from a-far. It was a cold windy evening when I took this with airplanes almost directly overhead. The cities lights are amazingly bright to the point where it looks like the sun never quite fully goes down. I love it!
Day 47 : Twin Palms
An unusual site for Utah but not for Las Vegas which is where I am currently. I am here for a photography convention called WPPI and it is awesome. Stay tuned in the next couple days for what I think are spectacular photos from Vegas!
Day 45 : The Pianist
My niece Ella from Las Vegas was my hand model for this photo and she was great. I love the depth of field in this photo and converted it to black and white for effect.
Day 44 : Chocolate covered strawberries
More treats. It is interesting though that there are only two here when it clearly looks like there was at one time 3. Curious.
Day 43 : Self Portrait
I thought it was about time for a new self portrait so here it is. This is a profile photo but instead of making my face completely black I wanted just a touch of light in my eye to make it more interesting. Let me know what you think. Thanks for stopping by!
Day 42 : At the Car Wash
Super Sonic car wash in Orem has to be one of the best car washes around. I love that they always get my car clean no matter how long or neglected it has been. While the salt on the roads is great for melting the ice, it is horrible if left on cars. While i’m not as obsessed about cleaning my car as my Dad, I know that it needs to be done once in a while especially living in Utah.
Day 39 : Lights
My kids love going to the SmallLand play area in IKEA which makes it a pleasure to shop or do some looking around. While browsing I saw this row of colorful lights that I thought was pretty cool. Enjoy!
Day 38 : Old School
This is an old school in Fairfield Utah that I think has a lot of character and is really cool.
Day 37 : Valentine Treats
Even though it isn’t Valentine’s yet the treats are already here. Our kids loved these.
Day 36 : Bobcat
My son earned his Bobcat award in the Cub Scouts today. This photo shows the face paint as part of the ceremony.
Day 35 : Jazz Reading
Our Jazz reader. This week he had the honor of wearing a Jazz jersey for reading the most for his grade. Well done buddy boy!
Day 34 : Go Away!
The latest snow/winter storm rolled in this afternoon and all I could think about was GO AWAY! Luckily enough we have had this sign proudly displayed in the entrance to our house for years now as more or a joke than anything. One side says GO AWAY and the other says WELCOME. The problem sometime is that the wind blows it and it spins around and greets people with Go Away. So you never know what you will be greeted with when you come to our house.
Oh and please storm really do GO AWAY!
Day 33 : Blood Red
Much to our surprise when I went to cut into some oranges to make smoothies for our little Super Bowl party I saw that we had bought blood red oranges. This is the first I have ever seen one of these kinds of oranges and I think they are really cool, and taste about the same as the good ‘ol navel oranges. Take a look. Needless to say our smoothies where very colorful.
Day 32 : The Bulge
So today I found why the battery in my MacBook Pro isn’t lasting as long as it should. A bulge or swollen battery according to Apple isn’t uncommon but that doen’t make me feel better about the potential of this being worse and it damaging my computer. Regardless it is still under warranty so they are sending me a new battery, but it is something to be aware of not only on computers but batteries on cell phones or any other battery powered device.

Day 31 : Choices
Ah the choices we make. Just like on the biggest loser tv show this is a temptation when you are trying to lose weight like I am right now. Happily I am able to tell you that I did not partake in this temptation. To each his/her own.
What choices will you make today?

Day 30 : Tax Time
Like many others doing my taxes is painful and my least favorite thing to do all year. Honestly I would rather have a root canal. Anyway today I got this years software installed and ready to go and now it is time to motor through and get it done. That is what I keep telling myself anyway.

Day 29 : Hershey Kiss?
I have to admit that I am not sure where or what this is, but while on a drive in Pleasant Grove/Linden area I spotted it and thought it was very interesting. My wife’s first though was that it looked like a Hershey Kiss. I think it was her diet talking mostly though
Anyone know what this place is? Leave a comment.

Day 28 : Paw prints in the snow
Our sweet Yorkie Maggie didn’t want to go outside this morning as it was so so cold, but she did for all of about 5 seconds. With a fresh coat of snow on the ground and the sun just rising I thought it was fitting to photograph her little paw prints.
Stay warm and have a great day
